The Spring colour family

Spring is the warm family with clear, lively colour: gold in the skin, warmth in the hair, light in the eyes. Its shades look sunlit — coral, fresh green, warm turquoise, golden beige.

There are four subtypes: Light, Warm, True and Bright Spring. Warmth is what they share; lightness, saturation and contrast are what set them apart — and that decides which colours actually lift your face.

The four subtypes

Same season, but different lightness, clarity and contrast — the four palettes do not match.

How to recognise this family

  • Skin with a golden or peachy cast that tans evenly
  • Warm hair, from golden blonde to light chestnut with gold, never ashy
  • Gold brightens the face while silver leaves it flat
